The other day I was forwarded the following message, "Don't expect people to understand your grind when God didn't give them your vision." and I received this message at the exact same time I was feeling discouraged and concerned if pursuing my dreams as a writer was the right action to take this past spring.
When I read those words it was more than a jump start. For me, it was the reminder that I needed for why I am on this mission in the first place. I am on a God given mission using my God given talents and abilities to accomplish what He has set out for me to do. He said not to worry about where my help will come from or how much money could be earned. Most importantly God reminded me that the profit is to be used to publish the next book projects and to pursue other opportunities. He is my provider and the BEST business partner I have ever had.
I believe that God is in the midst of everything that occurs in our lives. Do you know how God knows everything about us? God knows everything about us because He is with us wherever we go. I mean ANY place that we go, from the boardroom to the bathroom, there is God. And because He is in the midst of it all God is the owner of my small business - Ms. Marlene's Office, LLC., but sometimes I get discouraged when I am managing a full schedule. Just like all of my other concerns I take them to the altar.
What does God have to say about being discouraged? Philippians 1:12-14 ...and the most of the brethren, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear. From when I was a little child people spoke it into my life that I was a teacher. Now that I have grown more in my faith I believe that I have been called to be a teacher. The above scripture not only renews my strength, but it let's me know that when I am wrapped up, imprisoned, those are moments where I get my courage and another opportunity to spread the Good News of Christ. For He delivered me out from darkness and into light.
It is no wonder that my expectation should not be in what others can see in my vision. God gave me the vision and while on my grind in pursuit of it I only need to trust in God and expect the GREAT!
