WE can do this the easy way or the hard way.

What we are seeing is the result of the American Way
"Everybody's got a plan until they get punched in the mouth." ~Mike Tyson~
We are revolting and acting out against the plan that you had well thought out.
We have to be on one accord with a Top and Bottom Approach:
You see, the public relies on the government to provide police and courts to enforce our rights over the things that we produce. The public feels it is the governments job to promote efficiency and to promote equality. The people are now understanding that equality depends on one's political philosophy to provide sufficient resources to ALL. Sufficient health care, safety, food, clothing, etc. We can say that the government can improve the outcome, but that is not always the case.
Surprise! Public policy is not made by angels, but by a political process that is far from perfect. We can all agree on that!
We can also agree that sometimes these policies are designed simply to reward the politically powerful.
Now sometimes policies are made by well-intentioned leaders who are not fully informed and you will know when a government policy is justifiable because it will promote efficiency and equality or it WON'T.
Using a concept from economics I'd like to shed light to the foundation of the two narratives that we see in the communities and across the country.
1. Positive statements: Statements that are measureable, quantifiable and verifiable.
It is a CLAIM on how the world is.
2. Normative statements: Statements of how people THINK the world should be.
It is a claim on how the world ought to be.
So deciding what is a good or bad policy is not just a matter of science (data/facts) It also involves our views on ethics, religion and political philosophy. These positive and normative views are often intertwined in a person's beliefs. For example, positive views about how the world works affects normative views about what policies are desirable.
EX. The positive statement: more "black on black" crime happens more often then by police shooting black men.
The normative statement: We need to change the culture of the police department
In a claim that X causes Y, if statically true, then it might lead to someone rejecting that there needs to be a change in the culture of the police department.
In summary, much of how the policies are written and how the political leaders think is based on positive views by data on how the world is. However, there are MORE people with normative views with goals on how to improve our communities and change the policy based on how the world ought to be.
God's plan is normative. He has a view in how the world ought to be and how we are to be in relationship with one another on one accord. God has given us the gifts, resources and tools to be apart of the advancement of His Kingdom. Do not fear what is happening in our world, "through fear Satan attempts to rule. God never forces will or the conscience, but Satan's constant resort to gain control of those he cannot otherwise seduce..." (Mind, Character, and personality ~Ellen G. White chapter 51 Fear~). God gives us free will and He will wait patiently for us to come to Him with those hopes and fears, desperate for a solution and humbly dependent upon Him to provide the answer. Our microwave flesh expectancy ain't got time for all that and our ego's get in the way. God created this world and gave His only Son. I don't feel that He should do anything else above that! We have to come to Him, but most importantly the ones that say they believe and love Jesus need to demonstrate that love, look different, smell different, etc. so that those who are still easily seduce by Satan can see that God's way is the better way and we will not be easily tempted.
